Richard B. Cheney a distinguished public servant and businessman is vice-president of the United States. Cheney is a well-known figure in the Washington scene of politics, has served under several U.S. presidents George W. Bush and George H.W. Bush. He will serve as the fourth vice president, and is the elected president. Bush chose Cheney in July 2000 as his vice-presidential running partner, being impressed by Cheney's intelligence and judgement. Dick Cheney served as the chief of staff for the president, served as a member of Congress and was secretary of defence. Both Republicans as well as Democrats admire him for his honesty. Cheney has said that the role he plays in the administration as that of an honest but professional advisor to Bush. Cheney is adamant in accepting his nomination as the Republican vice president that he would like to serve with a presidential candidate who will work cross-partisan and to collaborate in a manner of respect and in an unifying cause. Richard Bruce Cheney was born in Lincoln Nebraska on January 30 1941 the child of Richard Herbert Cheney and the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. When Richard Bruce Cheney turned 13, he and his family left Lincoln Nebraska and moved to Casper Wyoming in the state where his father worked for his position as the head of U.S. Department of Agriculture's regional conservation districts.
