Jennifer Garner was originally born in Houston Texas on 17 April in 1972. Her family was however raised in Charleston West Virginia. William John Garner worked as a chemist for Union Carbide. The mother of her Patricia Ann taught at a local college. Wanting to follow in her father's footsteps her graduation was an education in chemical engineering. In order to be an actress, she went into New York. The Broadway role was accompanied by a stint at a local restaurant. She appeared in an appearance in the TV show "Felicity." It is here she met Scott Foley, her first husband. Garner began her career in Alias which is an action-thriller. Her first big role was the widely-praised romantic comedy 13 Going on 30. In it she played the teenage girl trapped in a thirty+ year old's body. Garner decided to hire Gary Winick (director) to make the movie. Together, they looked for new projects to do until Winick passed away in 2011. Garner was named an artist ambassador by Save the Children U.S.A. Alongside the promotion of the importance of early education, literacy and nutrition at the at the national level, his role is also to promote the literacy of all Americans. Since 2014, Garner has been a part of the board of trustees of the organization. She has been pushing for early elementary education. She is an ambassador and regularly visits with families involved in the organization's Early Steps to School Success program, which coaches families on how to help the children of the early years to learn.
